Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro Visits Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi as First Stop on Trip to India

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro kicked off his first-ever state trip to India with a visit to Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi.

As the chief guest at India’s 71st Republic Day Parade, President Bolsonaro visited with a 50-member delegation, including his two young daughters, eight ministers, four members of the Brazilian Parliament, senior officials and a large business delegation.

President Bolsonaro was traditionally greeted by Gnanmuni Swami on behalf of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the sixth spiritual leader of BAPS.

During their visit, the delegation offered their respects at the Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir and performed abhishek. They also toured the educational Sanskruti Vihar, a cultural voyage that displays 10,000 years of India’s heritage and contributions to society.

Regarding his visit to Akshardham, President Bolsonaro noted, “This is truly a dedication of selfless service. Akshardham is impressive in terms of traditions, culture, wisdom and grandness.”
