Governor John Carney of Delaware, USA, visited Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi, at the start of his first visit to India to further cooperation with India in various sectors and efforts in strengthening Gujarat-Delaware sister state relations.

Governor Carney and his ten-member Delaware delegation were traditionally welcomed. They then offered their respects at the Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir and performed abhishek. After viewing the Gajendra Peeth, the delegation experienced the Sanskruti Vihar boat ride exhibition, as well as the Sahaj Anand multimedia water show, which depicts the timeless messages of the Upanishads.

Having experienced the ageless beauty, borderless culture and timeless values of India at Swaminarayan Akshardham, Governor Carney expressed, “I thank my Indian American friends for their support, for their friendship, for everything that they bring and including their commitment to this religious practice, to the state of Delaware, the temple – that I have visited there with my friends – and for encouraging me to come, for the first time to this great country of India.

“I will always associate my first trip to India with my visit to the Swaminarayan Akshardham. The water show and lessons of peace were inspirational.”
